Chandigarh, June 21:

Former Punjab Police IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap, who has resigned from service in April last following adverse observations made by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on the investigation report prepared by him in the Kotkapura firing incident, today joined the Aam Admi Party (AAP) in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Amritsar.

Addressing the gathering at the function in which Punjab AAP president Bhagwant Mann was also present, K Vijay Pratap recalled his services in Amritsar as a police officer where ,he said, he had developed family relations with people.

Giving clear indications of his contesting the coming Assembly elections from Amritsar he said there was a need for social revolution in the state and he would work for it with sincerity and commitment.

Kejriwal welcomed K Vijay Pratap to the AAP party saying that this would strengthen the party in Punjab where, he said, AAP would form the government.
