Chandigarh:

Even as Capt Amarinder Singh has seemingly missed the bus this time around in the reshuffle and appointment of new Governors, he has not yet given up on it.

His relentless efforts go on as he is believed to have sought fresh appointment with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister.

Camping in Delhi he has been busy not only warming up to the top BJP leadership but try ing to push forth his claim  to the gubernatorial office.

Capt Amarinder, after quitting the Congress in 2021, had floated Punjab Lok Congress party and had contested the 2022 Assembly elections in alliance with the BJP.

While his party drew a blank, the BJP won two seats. Soon, thereafter, he merged his party with the BJP and has since been eyeing a plum post in the Centre.

In a way his strength has been to become a Jat  Sikh face of the BJP, in Punjab  which, however,  has not yet cut much ice so far.

The BJP is not sure how much can he help  to help the party popularize itself among the Sikhs.

Camping in Delhi Capt Amarinder hopes to make the BJP reassess him as an asset and give him a due reward.
