“Punjab farmers to get a new vision to double their income”

Amritsar, July 17, 2025:

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today hailed the launching of the PM Dhan-Dhanya Agricultural Infrastructure Scheme as a landmark move to ameliorate their problems and give them a new vision.

Chugh said it will go a long way in giving Punjab farmers a new vision to double their income.

Terming it a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment to rural prosperity over the past 11 years.

Chugh said, “From PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, to Fasal Bima Yojana, to the Krishi Sinchai Yojana, the Modi government has walked the talk when it comes to farmers' welfare. This new scheme is not just an announcement, it's an extension of the same intent, to ensure dignity and prosperity for every farmer.”

He emphasized that the PM Dhan-Dhanya Yojana will directly benefit 1.7 crore farmers, with Rs. 24,000 crore invested annually to build modern agricultural infrastructure across 100 districts. “It’s not just an economic scheme, it’s a bold push to turn ‘Digital India’ into ‘Agriculture India’.”

Chugh added, “For decades, farmers were left to fend for themselves after harvest. This scheme changes that, by empowering them at every stage: storage, processing, and market access. It ensures farmers don’t just grow crops, they grow income.”

He urged BJP karyakartas to reach out across villages and farming communities and spread awareness about this opportunity. “This is not a policy for headlines, it’s a plan for real change, and every farmer must benefit from it.”
