Delhi, Sept 12:
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today fired the Lok Sabha Leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi for his constitutionally irresponsible behaviour by abstaining from the oath ceremony of the newly-elected Vice President C.P. Radhakrishna.
Talking to the media , Chugh said Rahul has not only undermined the grace of his office but has brought shame to the nation.
Chugh said Rahul might be busy in his personal matters but he has no grace to carry out his constitutional responsibilities.
Chugh also questioned Rahul Gandhi for taking foreign trips without prior information to his security staff.
Chugh said in the last nine months Rahul Gandhi has undertaken six visits to foreign countries without informing house security staff, which, he said, raises serious questions about his conduct as a leader of the Opposition.
Chugh also recalled how Rahul Gandhi had been holding secret meetings with the Chinese authorities when India was battling in the Galwan region.
He also took strong exception to his casual conduct when Punjab was facing its worst floods. Chugh said it was a shameful commentary on the behaviour of the central Congress leadership which never thought of standing by the marooned Punjab
